About The Event
We will hear from Alison Clarkson-Webb, a trainer in multi-cultural engagement and a foster carer for unaccompanied asylum seeker children. Alison undertook research in ‘the Jungle’ refugee camp in Calais, as part of an MA in Global Leadership in Intercultural Contexts. She is a trustee of Borderlands Charity, who run a Refugee Drop-In Centre in Bristol. She will share about her experiences as a campaigner, trainer and foster carer.
We will share how young refugees come to Bristol, how the asylum process works, where it is failing and the challenges facing UASC. We will also consider how we can encourage and equip our churches to welcome refugees.
